National Youth Arts Wales is committed to making SBARC and the Creative Passport accessible and inclusive for as many people as possible. We want all young people to be able to access creative opportunities and take part in our services, regardless of ability, access needs, or technology.
This accessibility statement applies to the SBARC and Creative Passport digital services.
We aim to ensure that SBARC and the Creative Passport are:
usable by people with a wide range of access needs
understandable and navigable for young users
compatible with assistive technologies
continuously improved based on user feedback
Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we recognise that some parts of the service may still be improving.
SBARC and the Creative Passport are designed for young people aged 13 and over.
If you are under 18, we may also involve a parent or guardian, where appropriate, for safeguarding or for participation in specific activities.
We aim for SBARC and the Creative Passport to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, Level AA, and verify compliance each time we publish a new feature or change to the website.
These guidelines help ensure digital services are accessible to people with visual, hearing, motor, cognitive, and neurological differences.
We are actively working to make the service accessible by:
using clear, simple language wherever possible
designing pages with logical structure and consistent navigation
supporting keyboard navigation
ensuring sufficient colour contrast in core interface elements
using accessible form fields and labels
avoiding unnecessary time limits
testing content and flows with users
building accessibility considerations into our design and development process
We also consider accessibility when adding new features, forms, or content to the platform.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
SBARC and the Creative Passport are evolving digital services, and some parts may not yet be fully accessible. For example:
Some third-party tools or embedded content may not fully meet accessibility standards
Some documents or media uploaded by external organisations may not be fully accessible
Parts of the service may still be improving based on user testing and feedback
We are working to address these issues over time.
If you experience difficulty using SBARC or the Creative Passport, we will do our best to help.
We can:
provide information in alternative formats where possible
offer support with applications or forms
make reasonable adjustments for participation in our activities
Please contact us using the details below and let us know what you need.
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of SBARC and the Creative Passport. If you:
Find something difficult to use
encounter an accessibility barrier
Have suggestions for improvement
Please get in touch with us.

When contacting us, it’s helpful (but not required) to tell us:
What you were trying to do
What went wrong
What device or assistive technology you were using
We aim to respond to accessibility queries within a reasonable timeframe and take all feedback seriously.
Accessibility is built into how we design and develop our services. This includes:
user research and testing with young people
iterative improvements based on feedback
reviewing forms, journeys, and content regularly
working with partners and developers to improve accessibility over time
As SBARC grows, we will continue to review and update our accessibility approach.
If you have contacted us about an accessibility issue and are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to raise a complaint.
In the UK, accessibility of digital services is overseen by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
